The development of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines is a huge accomplishment. Getting those shots into arms continues to be a pressing public health challenge.

    How to Help

    • Increasing COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake, U.S. mpa, masked peopleJoin the COVID-19 Community Corps. Led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the effort offers timely, accurate information to share in your community.
    • Share the Rockefeller Foundation's Vaccine Confidence Message Brief, which explores what motivates high-priority groups to get the COVID-19 vaccine and includes message recommendations such as "Frame vaccines as an empowering tool, not an ultimatum."
    • Get vaccinated. Help others get vaccinated.
    • If you're a health care provider, CDC offers answers to some frequently asked vaccine/vaccination questions.
    • Keep following key public health advice (wash your hands, wear a mask, keep your distance) and encourage others to do the same.

    SOME WAYS APHA IS HELPING SUPPORT COVID-19 VACCINATION
    • Alliance for Disease Prevention and Response: Created by APHA in partnership with Shared Cause, the Alliance is a collaboration of public health, business, faith, nonprofit, philanthropy and other groups working to coordinate and support COVID-19 response and strengthen public health.
    • Ad Council public education campaign: APHA is part of the Ad Council's national communications effort to increase confidence in vaccination against COVID-19. Developed in partnership with the COVID Collaborative, this works to increase confidence in vaccination against COVID-19 by encouraging the public to GetVaccineAnswers.org.
    • COVID Collaborative: APHA is part of this national assembly bringing together leading experts and institutions across health, education and the economy to develop consensus on best practices to support state and local leaders in their efforts to end the pandemic.
    • THE CONVERSATION: Between Us, About Us: Endorsed by APHA, this campaign provides Black communities with credible information about the COVID-19 vaccines in more than 50 FAQ videos. All content is available rights free and designed for sharing on social and web platforms.
    • GTMRx National Task Force: APHA Executive Director Georges Benjamin, MD, is a member of this task force that has released recommendations to strengthen vaccine systems and confidence.
    • Health Action Alliance: APHA is a partner in this national network of businesses and public health experts working together to boost our country’s response to COVID-19. Join us!
    • HHS COVID-19 Community Corps: APHA is a founding member of the national volunteer initiative to galvanize trusted messengers in the fight against COVID-19.
    • Made to Save: We can end this pandemic, but we have to get vaccinated first. Increasing access to the COVID-19 vaccines in communities of color that are disproportionately impacted by the pandemic has to be a priority to get there, and APHA is proud to partner with Made to Save to make it happen.
    • National Academy of Medicine outreach effort: APHA is a partner in this effort to urge Black Americans to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them. A video features APHA Executive Director Georges Benjamin, MD, and other Black members of NAM spreading the word.
